Holy Land

Information: In 2000 Mathias Josefson visited the site Holy Land USA in Waterbury, Connecticut, for the first time. It was built in the 1950s as a miniature replica of Jerusalem. During the 60s and 70s, it had many visitors, but it was closed to the public in 1984 and has deteriorated since then. Mathias returned with a video camera to the site in 2010, almost on the day ten years later. The video Holy Land was made specifically for the exhibition Eternal Tour in Jerusalem. The video combines the visual material from Holy Land USA with authentic sounds from Jerusalem recorded in 2008.
